Opinion on these?
So I started this thread initially about some clinchers for my steel steed but was quite easily persuaded to go back to tubulars.
Anyone with any experience in Sigma rims? Are they just for race day or good enough for eroica type events on mixed surfaces? Also, these just popped up on eBay: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F352434566157 - good price for the condition? Last edited by VTR1000SP2; 08-17-2018 at 05:52 PM. |

H Plus Son TB14 is a solid go-to in this department. Classic looks and 23mm width.

No brainer with that choice but I really want to try and keep this wheel build 100% Italian. Spokes will be Alpina and hubs Campagnolo.

Last year Ambrosio came out with a newer wider clincher, rv26. Don't know about availability though.

i own so many wheels it's both comical and stupid - but there is just something about a well built set of nemesis wheels with supple tubies mounted up that is hard to beat. go tubular.

I haven’t been cycling long (2013-present) but I spent my first 3 years on a tubular setup and I think I could learn to live with it again.
The cyclists on this forum must make up the lions share of tubular buyers out there. So the consensus is nemesis on record hubs? Should I consider anything else since I’m starting from scratch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ll have a poke around the classifieds for a set. No rush at this point in the season. The bike won’t have another outing planned until next spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would anyone advise against the Campagnolo Omega or Sigma box section rim?

Those Nemesis rims are a bit heavy but classic. Mate them with8 a some Veloflex Arenberg's or Vlaanderens and smile.
That said, wide clinchers with corsa 25's and latex are as smooth as any tubular I've ever been on. A little slower steering, but they do measure 28 actual. |
