Zanconato suspends his books?

Saw on Instagram that he’s not taking new orders, which is a bummer because I was thinking of having him build a cx bike. Anyone have the inside scoop on if/when the books may reopen?

wow if that is true, it is a bummer.

Maybe Paul Taylor will reopen to fill the void. I'll show myself out.

I read it as too many in the queue and wanted to get caught back up.. I could be wrong, as he's a sponsor, he might even chime in.

I took it as the same...rather than build up a five year backlog, clear the queue a bit. Plus he's got a new little one...

I believe it’s exactly as hollowgram5 said.

New baby + a longer build list than Mike was comfortable with at the moment.

Mike is a straight shooter so I would not try to make more of it than that.

I would say suspend, not close. He's just doing the responsible thing.

When I got on the list it was an 11 month wait — I’d have to imagine Mike’s backlog runs him at least until the end of next year, maybe even into 2020.

I can appreciate that he doesn’t want to take and hold anyone else’s money (deposits) while he fulfills his current obligations — of course that’s just my interpretation of this move.

If you are interested in a zank, I'd suggest you send Mike a message.

This is a good idea. At least you can get a rough idea about when he might take orders again and when you might expect to get a bike. Based on that estimate you might want to order from another builder. At least you can make sure Zanc has your contact info so you get notified when he reopens his order book.

is it though? the guy is clearly working through his backlog and he already mentioned that he'll notify his mailing list when he opens it back up. i think it would just be background noise tbh.

If you want to make your list shorter shouldn't you raise prices?
