BSA to Italian threaded bottom bracket
Ok, so I'm building a single speed out of my Italian made '86 Bianchi frame. Got the bottom bracket out only to realize it's Italian threaded Dura Ace 7400. Now I had planned on using my old track cranks which use a 68x103 JIS bottom bracket for straight chainline.. I'm assuming I'd need a 70mm bottom bracket but I'm wondering if it'll still need a 103 spindle or a longer one?
Another option I thought of was just use a 103mm spindle in the DA BB |

Don't know for sure about track frames, but probably good.
My DA cranks fit the same, 68 or 70 with 7410 BB. |

Luckily I never got the fixed cup off... It's on there pretty good.. Anyone know where I can buy just a spindle?

If anyone has a 103mm or 105mm Shimano spindle.. lmk. Not looking to buy new bottom bracket if I donβt have to.. or if you know where I could buy one separately

Figured out what I'm gonna do.. just run the Shimano UN-55 70x107mm.. and stick a lockring behind the freewheel as a spacer to fix chainline.. ππ»ππ».. thanks everyone who replied

I don't think you even need a spacer. Only 2mm per side..

Yea.. 2mm isn't going to hurt, but it won't hurt to stick a spacer in there either. Ordered the BB this morning, now to figure out how to get that stubborn fixed cup out.. I need to get to Lowes or HD to get the stuff for it but COVID19 .. ugh

Remember, Italian BB is right hand threaded on both sides.

True except the SS freewheel will be grabbing fewer threads..Probably no big deal but....
