Just not the same forces at play, so it's not necessary and adds to cost. Pressfit and BB30 are solutions that are also motivated in part by cost reduction, but in those instances there are much greater forces in the BB and that causes problems.

superior is terms of less likely to creak.. not other performance superior. I dont think creaking head tubes have been an issue.

Between you and me, always thought that would be a better idea to have headsets to be threaded than pressed in. Same with the crown race.

This is true. As long as your headtube faces are parallel, it's hard to screw up a headset install, even if you're just using a homemade tool.

raindogs point about cost makes sense also.
