Haha
Married 25 years
She married me when I was a bike racer and gone racing most weekends. A few bikes don’t bother her.
And those are just the steel ones

Ryun, you mention the tubing of most of these bikes. In your opinion, is there a 'better' set of tubes among the mix? Is Spirit better than Life, for example? Or are there really no differences you can discern? I ask because I'm curious about the Pegoretti Duende, which uses the Spirit tubing, which I know basically nothing about. I'm riding an MXL Nivachrome bike when I ride steel these days, which is really a nice ride. Thanks.

I keep tweaking this bike. But it always goes back to a classic and simple build.

How do you get the stem adapter low enough for the stem to be flush with the top of the headset? I've got adapters for both my steel bikes but they look so bad with the gaps...

Not the same bike, but the same slammo look. This is a Profile Design adaptor.
Would be even lower if I shaved the top of the steer tube and used a smaller headset spacer...

I don't know if there is much difference between Life and Spirit. really I just defer to the builder. On the extremes, there are some differences; I would guess it mostly comes down to diameters. My pegorichie tubed zank has pretty standard diameters is not nearly as stiff as my spirit/life bikes.

The duende is a very nice riding bike. I think it will be a bit more compliant than a mxl tubed bike but still plenty of pop.
I think the duende and Marcelo are the same spirit front triangle with different rear ends.

This is a re-issued PR82 Master X Light. 1 inch threadless steerer. No adapter for this one.
