Black Friday gravel ride at Minnewaska/Mohonk?

Wondering if anyone would be interested in trying to do this?

I called the park today and they told me accessibility for bikes depends solely on whether they get snow. So it would depend quite a bit on the weather in the few days leading up to it.

We had a fun forum ride there two years ago, and there's quite a few photos from that ride here in THIS POST from after that ride.

Work off some of that Turkey Day fat? Let me know . . . Thanks!

I have been riding a couple of times on the canal way path since. Ribs are still a little sore and still have some road rash, but I should be fine by the end of the month!

. . . Mike had pins inserted into fingers. Have you heard from him? Did you get his bike back to him? Or can I still pick up that No. 22from you cheap?

Yes, I delivered his bike to him Monday when he returned from the hospital. Hopefully he is healing up well. He seemed in good spirits when I saw him.

Weather forecast is looking perfect! . . .

. . . Or about as perfect as you can ask for when it's the far end of a 15 day forecast. High of 45 and partly cloudy.

Still planning seriously to do this is I can get some buddies to ride with. There won't be leaves, but there are still some fantastic trails and views! I called the park and they says roads are open to bikes as long as there isn't snow.

I am in. Definitely a beautiful place to ride and it’d be nice to get a ride in before Winter fully takes hold.

High of 42, mostly sunny . . .

That's the current forecast for this Friday and I'm still planning to ride down at Minnewaska/Mohonk. No snow forecast between now and Friday, so looks like roads would be open.

Let me know if you are interested and we can agree on a time and meeting place.

Cool! . . .

So now we have to decide . . .

--Park opens at 9am. Not sure what kind of crowd there would be. Gonna be cold, BUT sunny and lots of people off work, so make your best guess. Would 10am work? I don't remember what time we met two years ago.

--Park at West Trapps, pay $20 per person, and ride Mohonk? Or $10 per car up at Minnewaska and just ride there? I'm leaning toward Minnewaska only. Cheaper, and plenty of miles of roads with plenty of spectacular views.

Know anybody else within a couple of hours drive who might be interested, but who might not have seen this thread?

10am works for me Dave. Either starting point will work for me as well. Just let me know which lot and I will be there!
