Ride Report: with texbike

texbike-pal and I connected up for a lunch ride today at his house. The weather was fabulous, maintaining at a cool 70, with a bit of drizzle but not enough to pose any problem. We took off from his house, and got on the scenic route along 360 in no time at all. We turned right into Bee Caves and took a nice little detour at River Hills road, a curvy descent down to the river valley, passing along some really beautiful and expensive houses, also going by Rob Roy a gated community where Armstrong recently acquired a property as his new cave. texbike swopped down like a falcon on his Colnago, and I could hardly keep up. He was kind enough to stay at gear 2 on the climbs so I don't explode into a thousand pieces as in roadkill. There were times I hope I am a bit slimmer (at least 8-10Ibs over my fighting weight) and had not indulge a bit too much in my favorite food (see images below, warning - temptations) but then again, on second thought, nah, I like to keep things the same. At one point, tex-pal was going to show me an old house by the lake but we were stopped at the entrance by an Aussie Willie Nelson (see second pic) so we didn't proceed any further. All in all, we did about 25 miles (see garmin summary) at a brisk pace and it was AWESOME especially to be able to do this in the middle of the day.

Thank you texbike-pal, I hope we will do it again sometime soon!

Notice the Texas national flag and the Big O' Oak tree.

That Aussie dude looks awesome. Though he may be a serial killer.

Hey Nick,

Yep we moved out of the hood - ran out of space with the kiddos and needed a bigger place. We're over in Westover Hills now. It's not as dynamic as Crestview, but there's access to trails for MTB 5 blocks away and decent road riding right out the door.

He did look a little scary. I think he liked Weisan...

It was a nice day for a ride. We had a cold front come in after we finished and it's about 20 degrees cooler out today. Enjoy it while we can...
