Subaru Crosstrek Owners - Cargo Question

We have a 2015. My wife LOVES this car. It's no speed demon but I don't find it lagging too badly. We would get another in a heartbeat. If my Rav4 takes a crap this is one vehicle I would look at first to replace it. Current gas mileage sits at 28.1 but it's mainly city type driving. When it gets driven! Our 2015 has less than 9k miles on it. And now that I know I could get a road bike in there without issue I like it even more. Never tried to put one it.

I can fit a road bike with wheels, or a full sus 29er with front removed pretty easily, I have an impreza. So basically the same set up internal storage wise

I have a 2018 Crosstrek and my large (58, 810 mm saddle height and 140 stem)) Gallium Pro fits inside with both wheels on as long as the seats are not all the way back or semi reclined. Lots of bags can be put around the bike. Cargo wise, it doesn't hold as much as an '06 Forester because the cargo compartment is not as square and the hatchback door is more slanted.

Mpg is 27-28 in town. I only see 30 - 31 on the highway but that is at TX speeds of 75-80. acceleration is ok as long as you keep the revs high (5000+).

Noise level inside if fine unless you open the sunroof. A rack on top does add to the noise. I have Subaru aero crossbars and Rocky Mounts trays. It seems much louder that my previous Yakima with round bars.

The increased ground clearance is really nice, especially in parking lots at most cycling events. Be sure to get the rubber trays for the cargo bay and seatbacks. I was choosing between a Mazda CX-5 and the Crosstrek and am satisfied with my choice. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions

If anyone needs a Thule roof rack for a CrossTrek let me know. We sold our Subie to our kids and I'm not doing a roof rack on the Alfa.

Interesting. We were down to these two, and went with the CX-5. Subaru needs to put a WRX motor into the Crosstrek—that would be a total killer.

If you want a sporty car, I don't think the Crosstrek suspension is the way to go.

I have a friend with a Crosstrek and he finds it very awkward to squeeze his 54 cm frame in the back and has to take off the wheels. For this reason, I bought a Forester and love it. Most of the specs are the same in terms of gas mileage etc. You get a little more cargo room but the Forester doesn't look as cool (which I'm quite happy with).

Actually, what I really wanted was an Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with CB and optional Rally Fun Pack, but they were backordered.

Brilliant. you can have at least 3 guys warming up on trainers inside the van, and a 4th rider having a sauna up in the bubble. Why are these not more popular???

As a plus there is enough room on top for a dead grandma, so it's got that going for it.
