Once I've dealt with an email it either gets deleted or into a folder if it needs to be kept. For me the perfect inbox is one with nothing in it.

About 20K live and a similar amount archived. I am truly humbled that anyone could have over 100k emails saved.

I have a decades-old yahoo account with 12,000+ unread. Everything secondary or spammy or questionable gets sent there.

Y'all make me feel better about myself.

I get uneasy with a dozen or so unread. This would drive me insane with those kinds of numbers.

Wow. I clear mine out once a year or so. I use email like journal n some ways and use a set of tags. I sort by sender to delete gobs at a time. Apple makes this hard. It’s also a real pain to cull the Address book. Consumer grade software is far behind where it should be as far as usability...and getting worse.

Recommend not using Apple mail... much better options out there. Outlook, for one, is much easier to bulk clear all emails. I use Edison as well for my personal accounts, but would use outlook only if my work email wasn’t going through it.

Sound like me. Mines basically tracking all the crap I buy and that’s about it.

I archive out of Apple Mail into MailSteward and end up with a searchable database of old mails. Works really well because I only have to deal with old emails by choice, when I need something old.

at one time I had 25000 unread emails in my gmail account. I wasn't ignoring anyone though. Finally took a couple of hours and deleted them. I don't have any unread emails, but I need to go through and do something to clean out my inbox. I also have a yahoo account where there are no emails in the inbox.
