Giro Imperials are the coolest I've tried. Very thin upper, minimal padding (only around the heel), and lots of mesh cut out. Very pricey though.

I had a pair of S-works 7 and they had great ventilation for 100+ degree Sacramento summers. The S-works Vents are probably even better. It does sound like a neurological issue, though.

My Mavic's are the best ventilated shoe I have ever owned. I bet if you tried the KONA Tri version, these will breath even better since these are designed to let wet feet dry asap.

However, I'd also see a specialist first. Funny thing about pain, it means something is wrong. Ignore it, and an acute condition can become chronic.
