Gates cog on IGH
I have no experience with internally geared hubs.
Someone is asking me if a Gates cog with Shimano freehub spline can be used on an 8 speed Nexus IGH. From this one vid I've watched, the cog is a completely different spline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz-3PfboKTw Does that mean there would be IGH hub specific cogs?

Yes, they make a specific cog. Gates has a great website
Also, nexus hubs have relatively narrow chain lines making belt compatibility tough.
