Thanks for all the feedback, definitely some good advice here. I might see if the velcro loop add-on works with my current helmet. If not, I'll check out some of these other suggestions.

I use a planet bike Blinky 3 that is zip-tied to the back of my Giro Atmos II helmet. The brighter super flash would not fit but this, in combo with the seat post mounted light works well.

Blue blinkies are available from Road ID and on Amazon and those really get drivers' attention. Road ID blinky plays well with my Giro Aeon.
