Monday grump: I need ANOTHER BB tool??

Putting my Bianchi together I ordered a Praxis M30 bottom bracket [stupidly] assuming the BB tool I had for my Wheels MFG 30mm BB would be the same.

Wrong.

Looks like I add another bottom bracket socket to the drawer full of them.

Grumble over.

In fairness to Praxis, while they use a unique tool and BB standard, they've used the same unique tool and bb standard for more than a decade now.

But you have to really, really want to use their cranks if you have a ITA BB.

I just bought the praxis BB because it was inexpensive compared to wheels for a 30mm unit.

Amazon Prime really does make it too easy to spend money and have things the next day though...

1) If you're not willing to pay $$ for yet another proprietary tool, then you're just not worthy of the component.

I was pretty unhappy when I found out Shimano had a new bb size. I find it strange they change things that have been working for decades for no apparent reason. But the industry as a whole had just given up on standards.

Praxis BB use a proprietary tool, but the latest Praxis cranks (Doon and Lyft) use standard 30mm axles (no the proprietary M30 axles). Since you can use any standard 30mm BB with these latest Praxis cranks, you aren't locked into their proprietary BBs or BB tools.

I have about 10 different Shimano BB tools - from the old square taper stuff, to octalink and for the different outboard cup design BB.

Amazon Prime is also the illness that requires the vaccine....but I am not complaining.

One thing I really like about Amazon is that *sometimes* it tells me I already own something and don't need to purchase it *again.*

Of course then I have to go through the shelves and drawers and piles in my workshop to find said thing.
