Twin Lights Ride - Highlands, NJ
Anybody else do the Twin Lights Ride today? It was a great ride and well organized by Bike New York. Unfortunately, my riding buddy kept flatting (4 to be exact) so we had to cut our distance and only do the 55 mile route, but still a great ride through some beautiful towns in NJ (who knew? j/k).

I live locally and ride regularly on all of the roads that were used for the various loops; you can indeed get to some very nice roads soon after getting off of the ferry.

Resurrecting this thread! Anyone else doing Twin Lights this Saturday? Looks like perfect weather for it, I'm excited. I'm signed up for the 100, we'll see what these legs have in them that day, although the course looks pretty flat.
Moving out of NYC to RVA next month so this ride will be my last big ride in the region. A bittersweet feeling! |

Hey, that was a super fun ride! Kudos to Bike New York for putting it on.
The 100-mile course was beautiful and for such a flat route, provided what felt like a lot of interesting variation (woods, next to the ocean, 'burbs, etc.). Ferry service to and from Manhattan was seamless. The rest stops were well-stocked with plenty of food and beverages (although I really could have used some caffeine!). We had perfect weather! Sunny but enough cloud cover that we didn't burn up. But best of all, I thought the vibe was really fun. I hooked up with a group early that was absolutely pounding out the miles. I can honestly say this is among the fastest I've ever ridden in my life. Felt like I was hanging on for dear life for portions of it! But the nice thing about a course without a lot of climbs is that you can really stick together in a peloton and get it done. I was the guy on a Lynskey with a blue jersey! Cheers if I spoke to any of you during the ride! Special shout-out to that group of 3 young kids who let me hang on their wheels for 10 miles or so when I really needed it, I appreciate you! I could tell you were breaking my chops in Spanish but I don't care! ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Turkle; 09-20-2022 at 01:38 PM. |

I didn't know about this ride.. I went out for a Saturday morning ride and this ride was whipping by the corner of my street. Looks like a great event that I plan to do next year.

This is a nice course that I’ve done on my own that is great if you want to hammer out a century without a lot of climbing this is nice. That’s a good fast average you have there too; nice work!
