OK, never using Lizard Skins DSP again..
I know well you are not supposed to stretch it. I only pulled enough pressure to get it lay down and not have an edge raised.
I got literally under 5 minutes in on 1st ride and the tops where your palms rest was peeling. I did notice the clamp bands were unusable, the top layer already separating from the base. Wondering if it was old, or got stored at way too high a temp or something. What a waste! I Forget where I got it. Sent them an email, bet money they're gunna say it got stretched upon install to hard.

Really odd. I didn't have any separation problems when I installed mine and I also stretched just enough not to have an edge raised. Hope you get some sort of warranty replacement.

LizardSkins ‘ages’ pretty quickly and the surface skin starts to separate.

I have black DSP 2.5 on my gravel bike. It's been on for maybe 9 months and still looks new (I wear gloves).

I had the layers separation after only about 10 rides and I don’t wear gloves
Once bitten and never been back. It feels good in the shop however |

I had the same issue. Never again.

Those lizards have separation anxiety.
Might I suggest something cheap from Amazon for 10 bucks or whatever that works better and lasts 4x as long? Quick search and ye shall find... |

yep. reason i said what i did is i splurged and bought lizard somethingorother. went thru same things as you. it was comical. lasted maybe a few months or so before it started turning to crapola. ridiculous.
i bought some brown retro-looking perforated wrap from the big former online book seller, and it's lasted almost 2 years in all kinds of lousy weather and conditions. it's just now starting to peel. so for another 10 bucks give or take, it'll get swapped out...with the same thing. The V2 DSP stuff is ok, but still de-lamination of the top layer as you've seen.
V1 was even worse. |

I've have been using lizard skin dsp since v1.
My issue with lizard skin is that it wears out before the season is done. At $65+ per pack that's bananas! When it first came out it was half the price it is now. |

Interesting. I have never had this issue and have a bar with DSP that's been on there for several seasons. Hasn't been an issue on my son's baseball bats either.

I used Lizard Skins at one point but others seem to have eclipsed it by a huge margin.
I have had either the Fabric or Fizik tape on my bikes for years now. It is very similar to Lizard Skins but lasts forever and ever and doesn't seem finicky about installation. We are talking like 4+ years? I think one of my bikes is 8 years old and is only on it's 2nd tape job. |
