Thanks great logical process from your end ,the paint job shows a lot of effort for a respray now I’ve started to look at it to answer your questions, apart from any prep work it would of required separate sprays for the sunset ,two more to get the faux carbon black ,then decals then clear coating, all threads and seattube were all cleaned out nicely ,again thank you

Hello, I was hoping somebody could help me identify my new purchase. The SN is TC59L 01441.

From the first page of this thread I gather this should be a Colorado LT, although it doesn't specify this on the frame, in fact it doesn't say what model it is and the top tube is just marked Colorado Concept Tubing. Colour scheme is the yellow/purple two tone scheme I've seen on some of the Coors team bikes from the early 90s, although it isn't marked as a team replica from what I can tell.

Can take photos if helps!

Always interested to know about the history of my bikes!

Thanks for any help.

Photos would help. It wasn't unusual for Serottas in this era to lack model decals if they were painted in a color that wasn't standard for a given model in that model year. They didn't have model name decals in every color. This is true whether the paint is original or not. I believe there were frames painted at the factory when there were no longer model decals in any color for some of the older models. For this reason you often see a small Serotta decal on the top tube where there would have been a model decal.

PS looking at 1991/2 catalogues online, Colorado LT seems to have external routing...

So I wonder If that's it and then it's had a repaint if the colour scheme wasn't till 93/4?

For some reason I was thinking CR/CRL (which had side port internal routing) rather than LT in my previous reply. Now edited...

I couldn't open your photos but it sounds like you have an LT. The LT and TG both had loop cable guides on the top of the top tube and full length housing. Is the paint a fade or divided with a sharp masked line?

The paint looks just like the 1993-4 Coors Light bikes though it lacks the sponsor decals. The team bikes had a Coors light decal where yours says Colorado Concept Tubing. My best guess is that your frame was repainted at some point, more than likely at the factory.

A Legend in Spain

Hi,
Mi first post here. I’m Chus, from Spain.
I own three Serottas: a 1991 t-max, a 2006 Nove and a Legend ti.
Would someone help me dating the last one? The serial is ti 56 2441. I was told it’s from 1998, but that’s not sure. At some point, it was repainted in cromovelato burgundy. Is it possible to know the original colour configuration?
Here is a pic. Hope you like it.
It has done over 4000km. this year. A great bike.
Thanks,
Chus

Welcome to the forum. 1998 sounds reasonably close. Fork could be a clue if it is original to the bike. There is a thread here somewhere (I think in general discussion) with a lot of Legend serial numbers and years. I will try to remember to check my Legend serial number when I get home. There is no way at this point to know how it was originally painted. Serotta had those records at one point but they are long lost. Probably on some Windows 95 computer in a landfill.
