Yeah I do too, but with our sunny/dry climate down here, disc are complete overkill for road riding.

But for my fatter tire/disc fix I also just picked up a Rodeo Labs Flaanimal 5.0....stay tuned

Built. All told it went together pretty easy.. Minor mistakes were made in the first bleed and my seriously kluged headset press turned BB press should never be seen in public or used again - but it all worked. Only thing not working are the batteries in my hanging scale - so, guesses?

Saddle nose to bar center is 61cm - spot on.

Drop is 10.5-11cm - also spot on, could go 1-2cm lower depending on how I'm riding it.

Not sure about the angle of the stem's dangle. Might go to a -6x120 Extralite instead.

And I haven't felt like swapping pedals/cleats just yet.

This looks reeeaally good. Love it. Can't wait for the ride report.

I'm with you on the stem... -12 with spacers at a different angle than the TT or a slammed or nearly slammed -6 for the same bar position... Only question is how much steerer you want to keep if you sell it.

I've been riding my ~20 lb titanium graveler pretty much exclusively for weeks - no chance this doesn't feel like a rocketship tomorrow.. not that the DeSalvo isn't a great climber - but dropping 5+ lbs and going from 40s to 30s is definitely going to be felt.

And yeah, going for the -6 deg is necessary - so is cutting the steerer.

Looks great! I think you’re right about the stem too: -6 probably better.

My guess: 6.5kg

No riding today, because the AQI is nasty and that's the rules in this here house.. but I did put batteries in the scale: 7.2-kg. That includes pedals, cages, and the K-Edge out-front combo mount. Which is right in line with the Canyon CFR that was built pretty similarly. With lighter wheels, tires, saddle, pedals, and a couple other misc things, it would get to 6.5-kg, roughly. Which is pretty dang light for an XL bike in fully ready-to-ride garb. I'm only making changes that don't compromise the ride quality though - and that fit with the style of the bike.

That seems a good weight already given as you say XL size

Do you feel it does well as a replacement? Or too early to tell?

Well, there's fires still going up north and to the south, and it was 90-deg today - in early October.. WTH is right. Inversion maybe? Dunno. Supposed to clear a bit tomorrow.

Let's hope. I had open time today and didn't ride. The air had tints of grey and orange. Bleah.

I rode earli-ish and woods ride so temps nada problemo. A bit of the hacky hack when I got home...

But the after noon AQI got to where 'better not to gulp that air' for sure... Overnight and next few days AQI forecast looking way better/best...

EDIT: tomorrow, not today for PDX AQI clearing...

Low-100's for AQI in West Seattle today. I rode around the north tip and Alki beach, where it was 60-80. Not too bad. I did wear a KN95 mask for the "big" climb back up to Burien, but at least I got out. Hope your air is better.
