Signed a big contract with the Raps after that and never showed any talent again.

NBA contracts are pretty much guaranteed money. You say showed no talent, I say retirement plan. He was "BBQ Chicken" in Shaq voice.. Got a nice retirement check to travel the country for free and ride the bench. Best seat for watching the games.

In his defense, he did go from a team that had at the time the best big man in the league occupying gobs of defensive attention to whatever clown car the Raps were the at time with Bargiani.

Haven't heard that name in ages. Has there ever been a "softer" player? Hard to think of one...

I just wonder if Bargiani was another guy in the wrong era like Jabari Parker and some other dudes are now. Today we look at a stretch 7 footer who has no desire to play with his back to the basket and just hover at 15-30 feet outside at all times as something of the platonic ideal at the 4, rather than someone to be labeled soft.

Wrong era and horribly misevaluated as a #1 pick. The expectations resulting from that were a large part of his ineffectiveness, IMO.

Andrea Bargnani, 3rd option, floor spacer sounds way better than AB, franchise savior

I was a Jabari Parker fan before he came to the league but his game just reeked of Carmelo Anthony. They almost have the same body type and pull up and release. He obviously got to the basket better than Carmelo, but those knee problems surfaced ending his athleticism.

Dudes from Chicago always feel a tie to the city, which I feel drags down their careers.. Chicago is a basketball city and the High School kids are legends. When they make it, there's a weird sense of heavily giving back and staying down with the old crews that seems to subtly nuke their NBA careers. I'm not saying don't give back, but you have to cut the cord at some point. The list of guys from Chicago that got caught up with drama at home, is lengthy.

Days to go!

FYI - James Harden now has a one-legged fallaway three in his arsenal.

James Harden fall away 1 legged 3 is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. He's not going to make that style shot at a high clip..

He won't, but I bet he gets fouled on the attempt a bunch.
