Need Help Identifying Some Campy Stuff

My friend is cleaning out his parts bin and pulled this complete campy kit out. He thought it might be Chorus. It has interesting white accents - hoods, RD pullies, brake shoes, and brake adjusters. Any info on year, model, and desirability would be much appreciated!

I'm don't know about the derailleurs, but the brakes (calipers and levers) and cranks sure look like Chorus.

But always remember that Velobase is your friend. You can probably match up the rest of the components to the photos in the database on Velobase.

I think monoplanar brakes and a/b rear derailleur equal chorus.

As noted previously, Athena also had monoplanar brakes, but the arms were shaped a little differently where the pad slots are. These photos are definitely Chorus monoplanar brakes.

I didn't notice the A/B rear derailleur before - yeah, that was only found in 1st generation Chorus.

First generation Athena weren’t monoplaner calipers. They were regular single pivots. I had some.

Yes, I should have noted that Athena didn't get monoplanars until a later generation. Later generation Athena got the 1st generation Chorus cranks, as well. The next generation Chorus got different cranks and brakes (I believe the brakes came from Croce'd'Aune, not sure if the cranks were new or also from Croce'd'Aune).

+1

Definitely chorus.

Athena monoplanar had the non cable crimp side arm different.
Hard to describe in words but chorus had the non cable arm swing through the middle of the caliper body and Athena swung behind

The crank bolts would’ve been the most helpful for ID purposes though

As the saying goes, a photo is worth a thou...

On the first two pics, bottom center is old version Athena monoplaner, top left is newer version Athena monoplaner (yes, there are some clear plastic sliders on the spring ends), and top right is Chorus.

And the bottom pic is an angled view, but the brakes are not ordered as in the same way.

Whoops... left out the Veloce monoplaners...

Getting pretty nit-picky here but Athena DID have the caliper arm thru the adjacent one, like older models of Chorus. When Chorus went to DP(1993), Athena got the Chorus like Monoplaners..

OOOPs, answered above with PIX!!

But, like as has been mentioned..Chorus..late 80s, early 90s..Chorus crank(non extractor and kinda 'sculpted')....

While the profiles are very similar for these various cranks, lower levels had a concave 'sculpted' feature whereas the upper levels Record, Croce d'Aune, etcetera had a convex central shape--and a left-hand threaded self-extracting bolt.
