Ugliest bike?

What was Specialized thinking? I thought the Venge was stunning, a few years later they come out with this. Considering bikes over the last 20 years I am hard pressed to find an uglier road bike.

Triathletes are not bound by the strictures of the UCI for bike design, that's what they're thinking.

The conversation went like this:

Product Manager: "Will people call this ugly?"
Designer #1: "Yes"
Designer #2: "But only on internet forums."
Intern: "Yep, those guys are lame just like my dad!"
Product Manger: "So what's our official statement when people make that comment?"

Copywriter: "#OKBOOMER! This thing is fast AF!"

But have you thought about how gross the fuselage would get with beer residue inside it on a hot ride?

If you dislike the Specialized, you'll really hate the Diamondback Andean:

I have always figured that horizontal top tubes would be more aero. Granted, not a lot more aero. Not sure if I believe the fairing is worth doing though

Huh, a cursory search reveals that triathletes can ride whatever weird design drop bar bike they want, but not a recumbent. I be 'bents would take over on the no-draft races.

I'd vote for "all of the above."
