Spent xmas skating in Bear Valley. Conditions were perfect...except for the altitude. Nothing like doing your first sessions of the season at 7K ft. Ugh.
Pics are from Bachelor and Meissner. Bachy is at 6300ft and Meissner is at 5500ish. So used to it now thankfully.

Got out a little early today and was able to get a great ski in. 23 miles and 2600ft of elevation. Good jam!

i took up skating last season and am itching to get on them, but winter hasn't arrived yet, not a speck of snow neither in the black forest, nor in the Vosges

As a non -winter sport guy, these photos look beautiful!

My PNW day was spent under dark clouds and light drizzle with a steady wind and no sunshine

And when I mean no sunshine, I mean NOOO SUNSHINE!

We finally got snow in the Catskills yesterday so I got out last night and ski'd around my neighborhood and then again today for a few miles down a favorite unmaintained dirt road. Lovely day.

Wow, that's awesome! Looks like a stunning day. We need some snow here in the NE.

Curious, how long does 53k take you to ski?

Upstate NY

We finally got in on the action up here.
Lots of snow after an ice storm on Friday, so the snow clung to everything and brought down a lot of branches and some trees.
We got out as a family on Saturday and my wife and I today.
