I have heard of food deliveries on campus. That thing doesn't look road-worthy.

given the absolutely horrendous skills of most human drivers, this doesn't bother me one bit.

I live and cycle in Houston. I’ll keep y’all posted on any sightings / issues / feedback.

agree with Seramount.
Walmart has a LOT to lose by murdering pedestrians, cyclists etc. Uber Volvo SUV + Human + Safety Software shut off = Dead Pedestrian. Not even a wrist-slap. ATMO. YMMV. |

an autonomous vehicle isn't going to run you over on purpose, but their safety rate is considerably worse than human drivers.

This is great. Instead of Amazon porch pirates, we can have Walmart Nuro pirates. Everyday is Christmas for thieves.
I read somewhere that 6% of packages are stolen in NY. |

Considering problems we are having with 3 Teslas crashing in last few months on autopilot and problems with Volvo ubers I would be on the watch for those things....

Now wait a sec...home delivery is where I open my door and the goods are handed to me or they are at the threshold. I'm going to have to open the door and walk to the curb or the driveway to get the goods with this service? PPffttttt.
The developer claims the vehicles "drive like my grandmother". Slowly and inattentively? Be safe out there.

I'm far more concerned about openly hostile and aggressive drivers than I will be about this.
I had a bad run in the other day with a guy and those situations are far more concerning to me than a brainless machine. Too much is made of these automated vehicles as a menace. The real menaces on the roads are people texting and driving, drinking and driving and blatant aggression and stupid driving. I'll put driving with overly worn tires in their too, especially in the upper Midwest in winter. |

As an aging roadie, I can't wait for autonomous vehicles. If nothing else, they don't stare at their damn phones all the time, nor do they drink and drive or suffer from road rage. I've got a Ti rod in my right leg from my first bike/car physics experiment. I figure it's only a matter of time before I get run over again. |
