Best Saddle Bag -- who makes it?

Does anyone make a seat bag like the old Cannondale Tire Sock?

I haven't used a bag in years, just my pockets.

Having owned the MTB size of these for several years, I (respectfully) call BS on the capacity or at least convenience. It's a cool idea for ONE 700c tube, a thin multitool, and a CO2. You could stuff more in there (a 2nd tube if they're both thin 18-23c size) but at that point it becomes really annoying to get anything in or out without a lot of fuss- and when it's raining or your ride buds are heckling your pathetic self by the side of the road to (FFS!) just put everything in your pocket and give up on it already- well, back to the convenience (and larger capacity) of a seat bag. I love King Cage cages, but this conflagration, not so much. I sold it in the classifieds, with all transparency and caveats, so somebody liked it I guess.

I really like the design of these made-in-USA Krieg bags that I first found at NAHBS/Richmond quite a few years back and I've bought quite a few since. They're big enough for a couple of tubes, a multitool and 1-2 CO2 cartridges (maybe 3 with narrow road tubes, I usually carry a couple of larger 28-35c tubes). Lots of colors, including (I think) plain black, but I like colors, too much black in my life already. I have half a dozen of these in "normal size", including (shamelessly) a Flanders Lion thing on my Sweet Fixie. Look around the web for re-sellers, there's lots of colors that aren't shown on the website.

It is funny, I must have 20 different seat bags/pouches/rolls thinking newer, novel design, sexy fabric must be better yet I always go back to my 20 yo Jandd.

One that also works well for me (it works well loaded with little or lots) is the Morpha Tool Roll. First of many tool rolls I tried and still the best (by far).

I used to like the old style Timbuk2 before the velcro gave up (will never buy one that uses velcro again).

I like the Jandd bags I've had, but I've found that the loop side of velcro straps tend to start to lose grip pretty quickly.

I figured you were but I'm not kidding it works great. There is no zipper to seize up or velcro to wear out and if it gets a hole in it just get another sock. Personally, I find old ski socks work the best.

Yeah. I used to use this for my spare sew up back in the day. Now I find it insufficient with a multi-tool, etc., but I may reconsider if I can find the right “sock”.

If you have to buy a toe strap, I'd suggest one of these instead, they work well with the tool roll. You can get them really tight.

another vote for the Outer Shell...best saddle bag yet.

The bag uses a Voile Strap which is what the above mentioned Velo Colour strap is.
