I’ve always relished how a Canadian is an icon of American music.
Regarding his proficiency as a guitarist - I will occasionally have fantastic guitar solos pop into my head. Alex Lifeson’s “Freewill” (should be Freewheel!) is a frequent one, but the single note elegance in “Cinnamon Girl” and “Down by the River” are often there too. |

This was a way to bond with his son, who has severe cerebral palsy. He developed a new train control he could use, an early personal tech exploration of his well before this music player thing.

Not really meant to be. He moved to LA in the 60's, would have thought that he would have become a US citizen. Can't see any reason not to have duel citizenship.
Neil has a lot to say about US politics in music and words, would think he would also want to vote. |

I saw CSNY a long time ago and more recently saw NY backed by PotR and not CH. I was absolutely shocked at how solid his set was.

So this thread got me to YouTube some of Neils old songs. I just watched the original Harvest Moon video and remembered/realized that the setting for the shindig was the actual restaurant up on Skyline Boulevard, up the road from his ranch and in some of the best local road biking country that ever was.

He was the least insufferable part of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Huh??
I’m a big fan of both Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, I pretty sure they are less crusty than Neil... agree about David Crosby...

See above comment about his present electric touring setup, when he performs with Promise of the Real behind him. I saw it last year. It's pretty awesome. You won't fall asleep listening to old men trying to hit the high nights on Judy Blue Eyes.

I have watched the pbs documentary on csny. say what you will about David Crosby but w/o him there would have not been a csny. it appears that he was the cohesion bond that they all needed. again based on the documentary.

Got to lean over the back of Neil's amp one time onstage at a big show in belgium and watch ...man, that was something...it was a young crowd ...Neil kept turning around and saying to us "what the **** is wrong with these kids?"
