OK, you're obviously an off-road kinda guy...or gravel, whatever it's called. I'm strictly pavement and would likely never have a use for the kinda low gears you're talking about. BTW, check out eurobikeparts.com...$1285 (with discount code) for the whole Chorus group. Good luck!

My group cost $1058. I ride pavement only, but in addition to the Colorado mountains, I ride around the local lakes with roads that have far steeper grades. The winding road up to pinewood reservoir makes me want a little lower gear. I want to try a little higher cadence approach to my steep climbs, since I have two replacement knees.
