Paceliners on the Cape and Islands, time to dust off your x-c skis

Yo Marc, et al, you could see 18 inches!

Sadly, from my perspective, it is going to stay mostly east of us here in NW Vermont.

the weather people are being highly noncommittal with this one here in NJ. Sounds like I could get anywhere from 0 to a foot.

I don’t care if I ever see water as a solid again, except in my glass, but my Minnesotan/Alaskan wife is ecstatic. One more ride tomorrow morning then it may even be too deep for the Nokians!

You going to ride there?

edit: I know that that's DH gear, but the picture seemed appropriate.

I have a pair of Nokian Freddies Revenz Lite 26 x 2.3" studded tires that I've never mounted on my MTB. I'm thinking of installing them and going for a ride on the South/North County Trailways on Sunday after the snowstorm in NYC is over. How deep is too deep in your experience?

They are now predicting 24”+ here on Cape Ann.

I guess the snow blower is going to get a workout Saturday

Bruce, do you try to remove it every X inches, or do you let it all come down then clear it in one go?

European model predicting 24"+ for my town. American model predicting the storm goes further east and half that total. I'm rooting for the Americans on this storm

Me Too!
I was out on the MTB this morning for a meeting I can get to through the woods, but this afternoon's meeting I'm riding the Firefly, 'cuz I don't know when I'm going to be riding 700x25 again soon!

I have three wheelsets for my Litespeed Unicoi dropbar conversion. Two have studs. One runs W240 26x1.9. They're passable with pavement. The others run Freddies Revenz and they are MONSTERS! I'll ride those in 5" of snow with ice underneath (and fall occasionally). About an hour with those and I am pooped.
