One More Time

Is this kit for real, as in riding on a bike real? It just has a silly hoax vibe about it. Can't quite get my head around it.

Yeah...I'm not really seeing the hoax part of it.

Not sure what you are getting at... it’s a “puffy” jacket.

It would be a hoax maybe if it was being sold for $25 bucks. Otherwise looks like a nice jacket to me. It helps sometimes to look at the history of a domain name and you can do that here:

https://lookup.icann.org/lookup

That domain was registered in 2009. Usually scamp sites are selling ripoffs that look close to the real deal for super cheap and their domain names are registered in unusual places and very recently.

I mean it’s untraditional as far as road clothing goes I guess. For $250 I could probably find better ways to stay warm.

cafe du cycliste makes really nice stuff, nicer than most high end brands, even if some of it is nontraditional in looks.

Jason pal, I know you been gone for a while...but since you came back sometime middle of this year, you have changed. A LOT....you have become a lot more cynical...about almost everything. Just go back and look at some of your recent posts you will see what I mean. It's perfectly ok to call into question things we have doubts about. I am all for a healthy dosage of critical thinking and practicing some discernment. But I think...you are besides yourself lately. I don't know what you have been through when you were gone...but this is not normal. And I don't have to be a doctor to see that. I have the best intentions for you. I am glad you came back or started to contribute again on this forum. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

They do make nice but pricey, quality stuff. Truly more a cafe’/ boutique than bike shop but worth a stop by to enjoy a coffee drink and marina views

What do you like to wear?

I kind of like that jacket. To the OP and for the sake of conversation, what is your preferred brand of gear you wear when riding your bike?

weisan pal - being kinda harsh, aren't you - dude was only pointing out that he thought $250 was a lot for a jacket.

Two thoughts, each worth the pixels I used to post 'em. First, I have a few pieces of Cafe du Cycliste kit, all of which I've bought used here. They're unusual, I suppose, but also unusually nicely made. I like them quite a lot. Second, diagnosing mental illness over the internet seems like a particularly ill-advised and probably unkind thing to do. If someone here's ever worried that my chain is slipping or I've cracked a bearing, maybe send me a PM rather than posting about it in public?
