I used to wear Sidis, but at some point they became uncomfortable and felt too narrow at the forefoot. Then I went through several versions of S-Works and then they made heel cup so stiff and tall I could not wear them anymore.
Now I have been happy with Gaerne G.Stilo. Very comfortable and plenty stiff and well made. Hope they do not change it.

so I looked at the site a bit more... wouldn't a pair of wide shoes (with a wider toe box) and good insoles solve many of the issues these shoes claim to solve? (as far as comfort anyway)

I know I have wide feet (Nikes won't fit me for example and Keen shoes feel really good)) and my Lakes really feel good..... I realize there could be other needs in addition to a wide toe box.

Angry,

You don't remember the episode of Big Bang Theory when the boys bought a 3D printer to make miniature toys of themselves?

The initial outlay for the equipment is steep, plus the materials are expensive.

Update. They now say they're opening up the scanning process May 9th. They also describe a few updates to the design:

Quote:
CAF (Carbon AirFrame): the mating of new printing technologies have allowed for a more dynamic integration of hard protection paneling and carbon struts–– key for game-changing ventilation, performance, weight reduction, and the manufacturability of a 100% fully custom shoe.
The closure system will come via two ATOP dials: one on the lateral forefoot and the second on the lateral heel region. Cable guides are integrated into the CAF itself.
Finalization of the strap design.
Patent-pending latticed pads are printed completely custom to your foot anatomy and interlock with the CAF to deliver unprecedented energy transfer. This is the most advanced and precise fit of any piece of footwear made on earth.

Is the exoskeleton design meant to 3-D print the shoe to the exact shape of your foot?

Okay, they finally sent me my link to access the app so I can scan my feet.

1. I don't have an iphone, so I need to find a friend who does to help me with this...

2. Also, this looks a lot more complicated than I had imagined.
