I bought and then sold this bike years ago.
I'm color-blind, so it looks blue to me. My wife explained it was (is) a purple bike. Would have kept it if I could have made it fit. White-balance on these pics is a bit off, so not sure if the color representation is good. Kinda lost on me either way. |

The only bike I had regret selling, I recently bought back the frame and fork. 3Rensho - All the cool parts are gone, but I have some ideas.

purple mono handlebar/stem combo is next level. But in combination with matching purple riding gloves is next next level.

Ritchey is fabulous--those stems do it every time--as is the downtube signature on C O Hoya's G. Messina.

The frame had been on eBay intermittently for a while but unrealistically priced, so it had fallen off my radar until my virtual pal Dubrat lucked into a similar frame via a Facebook group. Temporarily insane with envy I went back to eBay to find that the purple frame had dropped in price. I made a couple of offers and it was mine. On arrival in New Zealand I got a rattlecan of colour matched paint for the Salsa stem and Silca Impero, as well as most of the top tube which had more rust spiders than I can live with. I’ve walked a line between rideable functionality with Suntour Superbe deraillers, Silver shifters and Modolo Professional brakes; and an irrational weight weenie impulse that made me buy a Phil titanium bottom bracket, ti axles for the Superbe pedals and a handful of ti and aluminium bolts and washers. The purple anodised USE stem expander bolt has been in my inventory, unused, since the early 90s. It rides like a racing bike should, super stable in a straight line, but turning in hard in response to countersteering.
