The The, "Good Morning Beautiful"

Great lyrics. Some of them timely, given the state of the world.
I never want to hear that kind of music ever again, I had a bad experience with that sort of noise I'm not able to go into.

For the next week, I will only be dropping rap into this thread as I've noticed this genre is not getting the love it deserves.

First up is my favorite rap group from the last decade, Das Racist. When I was slinging vinyl and CDs at the record store, I would try my darnedest to turn everyone I knew on to Das Racist's first record "Relax". Certifiably ahead of its time, hilarious and fun as hell to listen to when ripping up tarmac.

Enjoy.

I love das racist. Have all their albums and wish there were more. It probably helps to have lived in NYC and know many of their references. My wife doesn’t like most hip hop due to the foul language and violent references but she really enjoys all their stuff.

I’ve been playing MF Doom recently and all his various other names.

One of his many great ones...lickupon

Ah, man. RIP Doom. I used to play the guitar melody to Rapp Snitch Knishes as an opening jam when I was gigging about.

Came in here to say I've been spinning a lot of DOOM, King Geedorah, and Viktor Vaughn. RIP DOOM.

Dang, now that's a bummer. And so cryptic!

That aside, Matt Johnson is really talented, and Johnny Marr is, well, Johnny Marr.

This is just so poetic.

And his mom's on violin in background (who's also an acclaimed instructor). What a childhood it must've been. And what an adulthood it is.

Once in a multi-generation kid. Like LeMond!

Today's song is Celebrity Reduction Prayer by Open Mike Eagle. A furious, articulate and penetrating song about social media. Enjoy.
