What is this t-shaped thing for Sram road hydros

Anyone know what that red T-shaped thing is supposed to do? It came packaged with a compression nut for my Force hydros.

That’s just a simple tool for screwing the olive on to the insert when you’re connecting the hose to a brake lever. The olive is reverse threaded. You really don’t need the red plastic jobber but it does make things a tiny bit easier.

Ah, ok, I think I see how it works. The Sram YouTube videos didn't show that tool being used to help screw the olive onto the barb. Thanks.

It seems like it is mostly to confuse people who are doing it for the first time. I had the same question.
