Cervelo Caledonia
I've been waiting to see if a thread popped up on this, but hey, let's go.
New Cervelo road model, purported to fit a 35c gravel king but still hecka road-oriented. I'm into it, but I know I'm a sucker for good product videos, and purple bikes, both of which Cervelo delivered. 3, 2, 1, go!

I was thinking the same thing. The C3 is a great bike. I hope the Caledonia is heavily discounted on Excel Sports next year, if so I just may upgrade.

Simple formula.. they took the Aspero and lopped 1cm off of the top tube because folks were balking at the Reach vs. stack ratio.

The advertisement for this bike is pretty great too. Lots more character than I usually give this brand credit for.

That and their perpetual problems with QA.

Actually, do we know that they have general QA problems for a fact, or does this stem from Hambini?
I do recall Luescher's vid on the S5 and its steerer. That's plausible, but that does seem like it would affect just that model. I ask because in this thread on Slowtwitch, the OP there said that their LBS claimed that Cervelos failed. They're much more popular in the tri world, so clearly there's some bias there, but most posters felt that Cervelo frame failures (broadly defined, it seems) weren't widespread. |

It's sad to me that what used to be an engineering first company is now just releasing boring me-too bikes about 5 years too late and endlessly iterating on old designs. It's called the Caladonia because of the awful road near where their Toronto HQ was. Now they're moving out of Canada and anything good about Cervelo is already long gone.

Does this bike compete with the Open "not so wide" or whatever?! |

OTP bikes are getting uglier and uglier... IMO. Not all. But many.
