Package Forwarding Services Europe to US - any experience?

Anyone have any experience using a commercial package forwarding service such as "forward2me" to help with shipping for vendors that themselves don't ship to the US?

Not looking to make a habit of it but there is a particular item I'm interested in. Seems like there are legit options out there to re-ship to US, just curious on any first-hand experiences.

Thanks for info.

No exp with such services but could perhaps be easier to just find a forum member in EU that forward the item to your adress.

A friend of mine use to do it the other way. US to Japan. It worked great for him, but that was pre-Covid and he hasn't done anything in the last two years so don't know how the current shipping is.

I've run into the problem with backcountry.com in the states. I cannot buy on the site and ship to UK. But considering the extra expense of using a shipper or sending it to a daughter in the US and having her ship it, it doesn't make economic sense when you calculate everyone's time.

Thanks for the replies.

The main item of interest is a MAAP jersey. They are out of the color I want at the US warehouse but have it in Europe (and Aus). I've asked and MAAP will not allow me to order from the other warehouse sites and ship to US. Also apparently have no plans to shift stock between the sites.

If I'm going to go to the trouble for the jersey, may search around for a couple of other items from sites that won't ship to US (e.g. LordGun + some specific brands/items). I gather these services consolidate and that may make the shipping cost for the jersey more palatable.

I've sold to people here using it in reverse, seems very common.

try harrods.com

They stock MAAP and maybe they don't have a geography lock on the shipping.

I got a few PMs. Will reach out to forum members and see if we can figure out a forwarding option. Thanks again for the comments + offers of help.

Bumping up my own question on the hopes there may be some additional comments since Fall 2022.

The Paceline community came thru two years ago when I asked for help getting that unusual MAAP jersey (thanks NoMoreParagon/Stefano!).

This time I'm intrigued by an MTB frame from a vendor that doesn't ship to the US. Being much more expensive than a jersey, don't want to ask my European friends/acquaintances to step into the middle of the transaction.

Any new/fresh experiences with Forward2Me or similar re-shipping services? Bonus for using them for more-valuable items.

Thanks!

You may want to check over on reddit in the InternationalShopper sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/internationalshopper/

I found a member there (u/KingBenneth) in the UK who has made a nice little side business for himself providing just this service. There are others in other countries and references appear to be plentiful.
