The only time of year it's acceptable to count your miles in kilometers..

Seriously tho, kudos to all of you who are getting out and riding. I'm struggling to find the will to go ride for more than two hours in our mid-30s and damp weather here in the PNW. Plus, well, work, family, blah blah.

I'm done.

5 rides, 508km, went like this...

12/24 ... 63.2 miles
12/25 ... 52 miles
12/26 ... 83.2 miles
12/27 ... 52.2 miles
12/28 ... 65 miles

Weather really helped, although there was some cold temps to deal with, including a low of 14 degrees early on in the longest ride.

My legs are happy I'm not riding today.

Here's some pics ...

Good job SPP!

I still have 125 miles to go, weather is not looking great and my legs are definitey screaming at me. I normally get 100-120 miles a week and I have almost 200 in 5 days so it makes sense. Also, no real flat routes around here, even when I am doing 30 miles, I still have to climb almost 2k. Excuses of course, gonna still go for it but we will see if I can pull it off

Nice. That's a solid set of rides. My long so far is 50 mile Christmas day tandem effort, done in two 25 mile chunks-to and from the movies up the road in Brunswick (a most enjoyable Christmas) Aside from that have several days with two shorter rides on the same day. Not so pretty. Had the option to ride to visit family yesterday and didnt, so missed a long ride in good weather. I have 109 miles to go and snow and ice in forecast for Monday and Tues. I should be fine with a long one today, and possibly finally putting the studs on the commuter rig for tomorrow.

Done and dusted

Just finished, didn't make my goal of 500 miles but weather (yes, even in SoCal) made it a challenge. Got turned back by icy roads Saturday, aborted yesterday due to 60mph gusts, and today was quite gusty as well.
(The 3 miles yesterday were a shakedown of a new Chorus 12 build, today was its real maiden voyage. Delightful.)

It's a good thing I got it done in the first five days cause I haven't been on my bike since...day 6 and 7 were pouring rain / freezing rain. Day 8 (yesterday) I had a dentist appointment (yup, New Year's Eve day) and wanted to hit Graham Hills on the mtb but after a couple of days of rain I thought better to not, and the cloudy damp day did not inspire me to get out on the Lynskey.

Happy New Year everyone, and congrats to all those that finished...

Was able to finish my remaining 24 miles yesterday in Providence while visiting family. Snowstorm all day Monday and yesterday morning made things rough going in Portland. I got 15 miles in two separate rides Monday.

After initially thinking "what's the big deal?" I actually got a lot of enjoyment out of doing this.

Indeed- I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this "little" challenge, after initially thinking "what's the big deal?"
