Redline titanium cyclocross commuter

This is perhaps my most loved bike. I have had this set up many ways over the years after acquiring it from my CX racer friend once he upgraded to fancy new race bikes.

It currently sits with:

1) 1x10 Campy 10spd drivetrain (Veloce RD, Centaur shifters, cranks, Chorus BB and cassette) (thanks to Dana-e and a forgotten generous soul here who sold me the Holy Grail crankset)
2) Raceface Narrow Wide ring 38t
3) Avid BB7s
4) DT350/generic carbon rims w/ Pasela 32mm tires (thanks Bill/BillyD12)
5) Vintage Litespeed ti stem and trashed Campy ti post
6) Regal saddle
7) Nitto B176 46cm bar
8) King headset
9) Honjos (thanks Ryan/Ryker)

I haven't ridden it for months due to a tryst with another commuter. I rode it to work today and marvelled at the shifting - so crisp and awesome. I am regaining the feel of it's handling due to the new bar, wheels, tires, etc.

Love it though - it is really a perfect all-round bike. I have ridden it as a winter trainer and had it flying through single track with knobby tires. It makes me question the need for my Desalvo ti disc bike, to be totally honest.

Welcome back, my friend.

Still cannot get over how nicely this rides. This will be the last bike I sell.

I am sure a Hampsten Strada Bianche is a better bike, but to me, this Redline rides like how I would expect a Hampsten like this would ride.

I’ve put on an Easton gravel bar and a -17d stem just to try something new and it it a proper road bike now. Probably too slammed for off-roading, but I am not really using it much for that purpose at the moment.

A dude at a great LBS calls it ‘the most OG disc road bike that comes into his shop’

Sorry for the terrible photo.

Does the recent post imply the tryst is over?

That was a two year old post - we’ve been exclusive ever since. In case you’re referring to the Sutra, that relationship is just starting up. It’ll be my ‘stupid activities’ bike, so the Redline is still my daily driver, as they say...

I had to drive to work today to make a medical appt, and the Redline was disapproving ...

Here is this bike in summer party mode: Gravel King EXC tires, my OG WTB saddle (there is nothing NOTHING more perfect under my butt) and after tonight, it will have a wide gravel bar.

Out with my son for a bike ride - so fun! He just inherited this Norco trail smasher. Love this bike as well...

Terrible photo. I will update with a new one shortly. Yes, they were the luxury version of the alloy one that everyone seemed to have back in the day. Great bikes.

If I could find an alloy 54cm frame for my beginner buddy to build up as a gravel bike, I would love it. They were be sold so cheap once everyone got into discs, but now the pool has dried up.

If I could find one in my size, I'd totally want to pick it up.
