I love this thread. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with a Colnago frame I have but no longer use as my primary road bike. I've got some French, Italian, and MUSA parts for a sort of Colnageaux. Just gotta find some brakes; maybe Mafacs are long enough.

This is what a couple hundred years ago was known as an Italian with the French disease.
