Factor O2 - here we go again

Have some travel coming up this summer and planning to pack a bike (in an Orucase) but really don’t want to risk taking my Peg or Koppenberg, so I’ve been on the lookout for something else. I previously owned a 61cm Factor O2 but it was disc and Di2 only, both of which I’ve decided are overkill for my needs. Plus, that frame always felt too tall for me and I wound up running a -17 stem to get the reach correct.

Enter this bike: found it listed locally and couldn’t pass it up. The 58cm size closely mimics my Peg geometry and the DA9100 + Boyd wheels were a great build. The dual sided Pioneer PM was a sweet kicker and it works flawlessly….I even got the original Pioneer head unit and a ton of different colored PM covers to boot!

Had to swap out the bars/stem for my fit, but have given it a couple of shakedown rides and it’s just as excellent as I expected. Weighs in at 15.7lbs, and those aren’t light wheels….want to try my Boras to see if I can go under 15lbs.

My plan was to ride it a few months and then sell it when I’m back in August…but it may be tough to let go of!

Very nice!

NGL, I'm actively considering selling my carbon/disc road bike. As you say, overkill.

Did you get this from Jim Miller? I think I've only seen one Factor built up with mechanical and that was his. Everyone I've known who has had a Factor has really like it.

Yep, that's it! Funny as I've seen him riding it on multiple rides and always thought it was a sharp bike. I picked it up on Friday and then we passed each other going diff directions on PCH on Saturday!

Nice bike! We have the exact same bike and a very similar fit by the look of things! What handlebar are you running, I like the shape of yours.

They're Prime Doyenne aluminum aero bars. I've had them on a couple of bikes and they're solid bars, just really, really stiff. Upside is they have aero cable routing if you need that sort of thing. I just zip tie my cables to the underside rather than re-cabling the bike (will do that at some point but it shifts perfectly now, so don't want to screw that up!)
