Bruce Gordon restoration

Some of you may remember this guy from the barn finds thread a few months ago:

For something like $250 I figured what the heck. Bike turned out to be in not bad shape overall but paint was toast.

Over the past few months been slowly working on getting a build together.

Got the frame back from powder last week. Only looks okay... colour wasn’t quite right and didn’t realize the file prep the lugs could have used. Oh well. If it turns out I love riding this I’ll do it again in a year or two.

This bike was Bruce’s first try at an overseas bike. It’s pretty well put together but obviously the lug work nothing like his handmades. Would have gone wet paint if this was one he built.

The bike doesn't fit the RnR in the rear so my buddy dimpled it for me.

Got some decals from SSI which I haven’t installed yet.

Dug out this old ritchey from the parts bin and cleaned it up and had it reanoed.

Came out pretty good, if a bit dull. I’d polished it really well prior but might just need some wax or something.

Some other bits:

Always loved the black out look of ceramics so with some help from paceliners and eBay built these guys up.

Funny, I was JUST thinking about the status of this bike!

I love this thing. If you ever need to ditch it, let’s keep it local

Hustle it. I need to see this thing. As a disc brake devotee, I think I am getting nostalgic for these funny olde-timey cantilever braked bikes!

Slow but steady progress. Not sure if anyone else has dealt with sssink before but they were AMAZING getting me the right decal. Incredible people there.
