When CX was like steel : Real

Cool bike popped up on the bay.

Just fun to look at. The days before disc brakes, electronic shifting and hydraulic hoses stole the spirit of CX and marketeerers snuffed out the flame of the handbuilt racing machine.

Happy Friday!

Probably a 46/39 and 11-23 cassette 🤣

I used to race at 9am then stay all day to watch Mark McCormack ride those Lemonds in the New England UCI races.

Although not now raced, it (I am sure) had a good time in the ring (got from pace liner for a friend)

I don't have knowledge of Poprads to make an informed comment, but the machine in the photo may be a Hot Tubes.

Check the ebay listing, it's actually an indy fab.

Canti cx bikes are the best. I still feel that if you need disc brakes for the terrain your ride you’re better off with flat bars and a xc mtb rather than any sort of drop bar bike.

Happy Friday!
We made these bikes for the Saturn team under the Lemond label back when we worked at Indy Fab (1999?). If you look closely on the chainstay we snuck in the PlanetX logo. I can't remember how many we made, but it was a bunch. That's Tim Johnson racing to victory!

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and was so tempted. Seems like it belongs in my bike cave, LOL!
