12 Speed Crank Compatibility with 11 Speed

Campagnolo fans question:

I like the new Chorus 12 speed crank especially since it comes with 48/32 teeth.

Any concerns about being able to use it with an 11 speed setup?

more speed -> less speed is almost always compatible but less speed -> more speed is generally limited by 1 up only for example 10 speed crankset can be used on 11 speed but 9 speed on 11 speed is not recommended. From what I read at least if that helps Xp

For Campagnolo and their LH/front der shifter(Ultrashift), it really matters not.
I've installed Campag 10s ERGO and used a SuperRecord(as in last made in 1987) cranks AND front der..it was fine.

The chainrings aren't thinner, but a wee bit closer together(talking Campag 12s now, not sram)..so you 'may' get some noise when in smaller cogs and small chainring(chain tickling the big ring when in small) but sure, use that crank with the other stuff w/o problem..Match the chain 'speed' to the cogset, not the crank.
