I knew Contadors record was not gonna remain intact for a long time but damn, 20 minutes is alot.

Wondering who is going to try to do it next. I know Gaimon is training for it but not sure he is gonna be able to do it. I also think if Morton goes for it again he can probably do it.

WOW! 20 min seems unreal! Doesn’t sound like Morton would do it again based on this interview at 3:39 https://youtu.be/cilFUlCxqM8

I mean, I don't blame him and considering he already done it twice in such short time. It is just something that does not look or sound very fun.

Reportedly on a "steep" hill, which seems to be counter to the usual practice.

It reduced his total distance significantly. Not that I have any plans of doing this, because it would take days or weeks instead of hours, but it seems to me that a super fit, light climber would benefit from steeper hills and shorter distance.

Not to mention the faster descent.

Those who have set records lately (Emma Pooley leaps to mind) did so on really steep hills and topped 55 MPH on the descent.

I think that is why this record will keep going lower, we are still yet to find what the best setup for something like this is. Too steep is not good but also not steep enough is not either.
