I’d try swapping wheels first to rule out anything in the wheel dept.
And then go straight to bb/crank/pedal |

I don't mind dropping it off LBS but the current wait time is atrocious... This is the most clacky noise I've heard out of a nice bike. It reminds me of a loose chainguard on a kid's bike banging against the crank.

Good advice. Will do that. I still have the campy 11 sp wheels. Even though alignment is different with my shimano set up, one of the cogs should match

I can drop my 11-speed Shimano wheel in my 11-speed Campy setup, and it works perfectly in every gear, not a single adjustment needed.

Better mechanics than me have commented but switching the wheel sounds like a good idea - I’ve had a free hub body kind of skip forward under power. Its much more noticeable than a click but I imagine there can potentially be a chain/cassette/freehub issue.

I haven't listened to OP's video, but based on his description if we'd have instituted @josephr's idea of a kitty my $5 would've been on chainring bolts. |

I haven't listened to OP's video, but based on his description if we'd have instituted @josephr's idea of a kitty my $5 would've been on chainring bolts.[/QUOTE] As several people have noted, it's crazy loud, sounds like spoke hitting the downtube or one of the stays! It appears to be dependent upon pedals turning, but not really on load, since you can hear it even as the OP is just stopping to turn the pedals. I'd guess from this that one should be able to hear it when the bike is on a bike stand. If it doesn't happen with the bike in the stand, one aid I've used is to have a friend with really good hearing to ride next to me for a while, and try to identify what part of the bike it's coming from. It can be possible to distinguish bb from cassette or hubs this way. What kind of of bike is this, and what kind of BB? |

If it's not the wheels nor any of the other stuff listed, remove and reinstall the BB with a lot of grease.

Oh! Maybe this was suggested but... A new chain on old cogs or vise versa can make that sound.

Actually I was going to say certain Carbon frames can make crazy loud noises like this too, but not in this situation.
My Domane has chainstays that are open in the rear and are so big you can almost stick your finger in there... if you hit a bump just right the internal cables make a noise and the giant hollow/open chainstays make a noise kind of like this. Same thing if the chain slaps down on the stay on a huge bump. But it will never do it in time with the pedal stroke, and this is a Ti bike. Ti and Aluminum bikes still seem like they could amplify the noise like this if the tubes are big enough.. but I've never seen a non-carbon bike that had an open tube end to act as the "sound hole". |

Chain and cassette are brand new. They were installed 300 miles ago...

Haha. I guess I will remove the seat post and go for a ride too.
