Getting side tracked- are USA pedals a "thing"? (like USA made hubs, headsets)

If you don’t get vintage shinburgers your bike is trash.

To me they are. With the economy the way it is due to covid I prefer to throw my money to American labor.

Look at the BMX forums, that community has a surprising number of components/frames built in the states. A quick search brought up Crupi pedals. Not sure if they are appropriate for that kind of riding, I've never ridden a pump bike.

I have no idea of what a pump bike is. I need to Google

Afaik there is no such a thing (type) as a "pump bike". I think people ride all kinds of bicycles on pump tracks.
Made in USA pedals seems a real restriction, since the better platforms are no longer USA-made. Regardless, Speedplay "Drillium" or "Brass Knuckles" pedals would probably work, if you can find them after the Speedplay acquisition (by a company which has the majority of their products manufactured in Taiwan, if one is keeping count) debacle... . At least any used or NOS/NIB Speedplay pedals would presumably be USA-made. |

They look like really expensive BMX bikes for growed-ups.

Who knows if the number has increased or decreased in the 3 years since. Either way, those sure appear, as you imply, firmly slotted in some inane "a niche is a niche is a niche" type/label category, the positive thing being that despite that hyper-labeling a wide variety of pedals will work just fine. |

Assume you'll want something with studs. Not sure what is American made, but this might be of some interest.

You've missed the "golden age" of USA made platforms (80s-90s for BMX, before clipless). Most of the high end ones (Crupi, Bullseye, GT He Mans, Hutch, etc) were expensive, well made, aluminum, and UNFORGIVING if you slip them (as someone new to pump tracks may be).
Here's some Crupi rounds and a shin (sorry!) I ran GT He Mans and ended up with Odysseys eventually.. I'd recommend using the nylon platforms for the time being (Odyssey Twisted are a good, durable, example: https://shop.odysseybmx.com/collecti...del-twisted-pc Learn on something more forgiving, I'd say.. |
