Wout = beast. Classics rider pulling like a mountain domestique. Then Sepp for the final pull. And a perfect result: stage win, time gained, but Alaphilippe still has to defend yellow. Hopefully this continues to be an interesting race!

Wout--absolute supercharged animal when it got steep--nobody even tried to get past him. Pretty damn fun to watch so far if you like Jumbo Visma. Also, I like seeing Alaphilippe fighting to hold onto yellow--he lost his dad in June and seems to be racing in his honor.

Kuss was amazing.
Alaphillipe was inspiring.
Sagan was disappointing.
Israeli team needs a better name.
Nice to see the B&B rider making an attack.
But, overall, so glad we have a TdF to watch this year!

I think Sagan is tuning up for the cobbles.

He has previously announced he was going to skip the cobbles and ride the Giro this year. Obviously things could change, but that certainly wasn't his plan.

I think that 2020 will not be a vintage year for Sagan. My $0.02: he appears to like lots of training and racing ahead of his big goals for the season. That plan was not possible with the pandemic. He also is committed to the Giro to keep sponsors happy, so he probably hasn't come into the TdF with top form. Now add in the new crop of very strong sprinters and all-arounders and Sagan has a challenging year on his hands. It will be interesting to see how he does as the condensed season progresses.

Surfing the caravan is not a new thing. There is a line between using the cars to get back into the group and using it to get back to a breakaway or worse, hanging on to a sticky-bottle for a long period of time. I don't think that Sepp crossed that line whatsoever.
