Bike hangers

So I've been on a mission to hang some of the bikes to get them off the floor - am using the hooks that hold them by the front wheel - I'm not worried about the older bikes with alum rims - but will the hooks damage carbon rims ? The weight of the entire bike is on it....

Bikes weigh what, 20lbs? If humans weighing hundreds of percent more than that can ride through harsh terrain, unloading multiple tons of force on them, you shouldn’t worry. Just make sure it’s padded so it won’t scratch the rim.

Guess I'm worried about the weight only being distributed on a small diameter hook

I’d be more worried about aluminum rims

It's fine, honestly. Practically every Rapha clubhouse uses the same system for customer bike parking. As said, the hook should be sleeved in rubber.

If hanging a bike by a carbon rim damages them, I'd be seriously concerned about riding on them.
I made my own hooks. Had a couple plant hangers laying around. Cut up an old inner tube to cover the metal hook. Worked perfectly.....

The inner tube idea is great!
