This looks to be a game changing group. Wireless, programable for 9,10,11,12,13 speed. Batteries integrated on derailleurs but replaceable if needed, magnetic charging. And available in both hyd (mineral oil) disc with or without calipers (750 euro with) and rim brake (650 euro) (with a rim brake alloy version at a lower pricepoint coming this summer).
Not officially shipping to USA yet, apparently some patent/license issues.

Quality of the parts appears pretty high.

There is someone on weightweenies who purchased the rim brake groupset and it seems to work pretty well. My holdup is the batteries don't seem to be user replaceable.

So are the batteries in the derailleurs rechargeable, but remain on the bike so the recharging happens at the bike?

You can utilize shimano hydro brake lines and calipers. Rim option to boot

105ish quality level? Interesting price point. Way better looking and less cobby than any variation of Di2 IMHO. Definitely starting to see some builds that could benefit from the wireless and the practicality of the number of gears

Seems like it will take some time for this group to be battle tested long enough to provide confidence for people to switch over from Shimano / SRAM. Given the kind of sales you can find on mainstream brand group sets, the price for Wheeltop EDX actually seems slightly high.

I'd be interested but price needs to be dropped for me to consider. The only place I can find that will ship to US is an eBay reseller and the price is a staggering $880 plus tax for rim brake shifters and derailleurs...

I feel similarly. Reprogrammable electronic derailers are great, but at this price I could get either SRAM rival or Shimano 105, and no I'd have something reliable.

The speculation is that it will be available here later in the year as some patents are set to expire.

The real advantage is the programmability. I'm still on 11spd rim, and my options have really dwindled. AXS is nice, but have to buy into their universe of smallish chainrings and wide range rear gearing. 105 is partially wired.

I suspect we'll see the price fall as well.

From what I’ve read the batteries are not user replaceable. Sounds like a fatal flaw to me.

What if they're replaceable by the manufacturer? I think my Wahoo Elemnt is also not designed for user battery replacement, but it hasn't been an issue. Good question though!

The batteries are user replaceable - there's just two regular bolts holding them in on each derailleur.

The chances of Wahoo discontinuing customer support in most markets is definitely lower than Wheeltop folding and becoming impossible to repair. With electronic parts, the support aspect for long term use is IMO very important.
