weather

I think we're going to get lucky.
The weather up here has been atrocious this spring. Cold and rainy, rinse, repeat.
Sunday is going to be mostly or all dry with moderate temperatures. And there's a cool dry air mass flowing over us now that is going to have a nice drying effect on the mud on Saturday before the ride.

Should be a great day.

I will be on my green OPEN so come say hi.

Compass Juniper ridge 650x48. They did great on the Cross Mountain crusher so they are staying on the bike. I am going to be going slowwwwwwww because I have been not putting a lot of miles in this past month.

Weather is looking awesome, I think we are all in for a treat.

The Farmers Daughter

It was a death march for me today, on my 20-year old bike with 32c tires and one bottle. The uphills were brutal as anticipated, but the downhills with the washboard and potholes killed me, as did the heat and humidity. Two flats, and I still can’t move my neck or feel my hands. I got to my car and drove home without going for food and beer. The single-track at the end by the pond absolutely killed me.

I started cramping and had some muscle spasms once it got hot out. Made it through to lunch and took the bail out back. Those mountain bike sections were tough and muddy. All in all it was a good day!

Agree, it wasn’t just the mileage I’m feeling now. It’s also feeling like someone beat the crap out of me. Quite the blows from the roots, rocks, and potholes at speed.
Had a great day riding with forum pals Dan and Roxanne which made the ride for me.
