* real name: Dan
* where do you live? Ithaca, NY- I like it here, I'm from here, and I'd like to stay here, there's just enough topography to keep it interesting and all four seasons to make sure the garage is full of toys for each.
* explanation of your handle: Location + name = ??
* explanation of your avatar: Avatar?
* age: Born in 1980
* occupation: Recent Cornell Grad- still looking, have been everything from production manager at a brewery to a nursery consultant in Mongolia
* favorite bike Quoth U2, I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
* what's in your stable? A whole ton of bikes, I fix an flip them to support this hobby- the keepers are the Stowe, the neon trek 850 (first "real" bike) and maybe the ti merckx and the carbon basso, but those have a price where I'd cave.
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 55+ last spring on the hills outside Ithaca, NY.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? According to strava, around 2k, but there's probably another thousand where I just didn't turn my phone on.
* picture of yourself or your ride?

Not actually my ride

* what is the biggest lie you've ever told: Once told a coed I was on double dare as a kid.

Digging the Campy Athena polished stuff

M-7,

I'm totally digging the polished Campy gear on your custom steel bike. It reminds me of my Campy Record gear from 96/97. I really miss the old polished look. Although I like blacked out gear, too, the polished stuff just says "class" to me.

Cheers,

Joey

* real name, if you like Joey Pulone
* where do you live? Ellicott City, MD
* explanation of your handle My old Border Collie's name
* explanation of your avatar My then 10 yo son MTBing w/ me at sunset
* age (general or specific) 43
* occupation Photographer (journalism & weddings mostly)
* favorite bike My new/old Kona 2-9
* what's in your stable? 2000 Klein Quantum Race, '93 Fat City Yo Eddy, 2008 Kona 2-9, '98 Cannondale CAAD 3, '94 Lightspeed Ocoee, 2013 Sette Reken, regrettably I sold my 1996 Bianchi Ti Mega Tube (I really miss that bike)
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 64mph, very long/steep road in Anaheim Hills, CA in 1995. Hit 63mph on 10 mile decent from Rock Creek Lake in Eastern Sierras, CA circa 2000.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? Maybe 500 miles. Been floundering getting back into the sport in a serious way...lots of life stuff and being an overweight bastard.
* picture of yourself or your ride? Here's a link to a recent image of my boy and our 2 new MTB rides. Just finished building up both. Need to make some good images of my old Klein Quantum. http://instagram.com/p/Uu4W_KmW91/
* make up and answer at least one additional question. Now that I've successfully brainwashed my 12 yo son, I've been getting out on my MTB several days a week. My biggest thing is I'm looking to get that bug back, and lose the 75 lbs. I put on since I stopped racing in 2000. It's been a tough 13 years, and I'm anxious to feel good again. Consistency and diet are my big things.
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told I took my "room" money for a college semester to help buy a Honda CBR600F2 motorcycle and then slept on a friend's couch for months. Biggest lie and stupidest thing I've ever done.
* and, something fun. Planning a road cycling trip with a group of photographers around the Lake Tahoe region of the Sierras...late summer, early fall...so stoked. I'm also seriously figuring out how to relocate my family...places we're considering: San Diego/SoCal/San Luis Obispo, SF/Berkley/Marin County, CA, Portland/Bend, OR, Boulder/Edwards, CO

* real name, if you like: Willie
* where do you live? Lawrence, KS
* age (general or specific): 25
* explanation of your handle: It's an old name, from when I used to post a lot more on certain heavy metal sites...

* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? Can't rightly say... Do gravel roads count? Let's just say I could have done better, but I worked a lot for a good portion of the season, fought an injury, and had to deal with 110 degree heat for a month and a half last year.
