LOL. I was trying to figure out how to pronounce it, but just didn't feel like I could get it right...

To each his/her own but both of those bikes look like a sink full of week old dirty dishes to me.

If this were middle school you all would be making fun of your classmates who have the wrong gym shoes.

Making fun of things you don't understand...

Nice

I never understood how Tri bikes are a thing in mass-start events, while in regular cycling races, TT bikes aren't allowed for safety reasons?

I tend to agree with you but…… come-on, these are Tri guys. They’re so obsessively obsessed it’s hard not to poke fun at them. And that bicycle for the non-Tri crowd that loves traditional bicycles? It’s downright butt ugly. There’s just no other way around it. Plus there’s room in there for enough clothes for a B&B tour.

Admittedly it’s middle school behavior, but all in fun. And admittedly I’d like to try riding one. Hmmm, no I don’t think I would.

Different associations, different rules. Here in the US, there are at least 3 different associations that govern triathlong (International Triathlon Union, USA Triathlon, Iron Man), and even within these associations, there are rule variations - for example, some triathlons may be draft legal, and some may not.

Even for road racing, there are different racing associations with different equipment rules. Most amateur races int the USA follow USA Cycling rules, which have more liberal equipment regulations than the UCI rules that apply to European pros. For example, if I wanted to show up at a USA Cycling road race with a 13 lb. bike, or at a criterium with solid disc wheels, I'd be allowed to race.

that's not a fairing, it's a box to carry your spare tube that you don't know how to put on the bike. Okay, it's a fairing

They relaxed all the rules a little, but they must not allow 'bents. Not sure that makes sense.

You might all be surprised when you learn who the designer of the bike in the OP is. Bit of a celebrity with a bit of a history designing vehicles.

Here is his most famous design work:

If I found that thing in my basement, I would probably call an exterminator!

What is the ID of those rims? Wonder how wide my gravel kings would be on them?

That Diamondback has to be one of the ugliest bicycles in history. Just awful.

I was going to say that by the time you get to the time trial leg of the triathlon the riders tend to be spread out. Then I remembered this
