Looks like this is just the beer for you. From one of my locals.
In a slight drift, the talk of water quality reminds me of a long ago job as a watch stander in a naval steam engineering plant. The micromanagement and monitoring of the water as it’s scooped from the ocean and turned into boiler water then high pressure steam is astonishing. Maybe not as aggressive in the beer industry but I’m sure some of the same principles apply in the high volume producers. |

A case of Bud is $24 and the real Budvar is $32 a case here. Heineken is $29 here A case of 0.5 liter Pils Urquel is $39....that is pretty good value vs Bud if my math is correct.

A wise man (my father) says there’s only two kinds of beer in the world - good and better.

What does he think of Coopers? Not great, especially given the craft beer explosion, but a definite step up from the likes of Fosters. I remember they specialized in bottle conditioned ales, and made a pretty nice stout. Not sure if they are currently available in the US.

I'm not a fan of pilsners, but Dig Deep Brewery out of Cumberland MD makes a good one.
